Not only are their servers more often than not so incredibly slow you can't even download anything from there, but after uploading SEVEN clothing sets, and having all of them rejected except for one (and not even the best one!), I made up my mind: I hate them.
I'm not saying my CC is fantastic or anything, but it's certainly better than a lot of the crap I've downloaded from MTS2.
Either they're blind, or they're snobist, elitist and what-not-all, but I sincerely doubt that I'll ever even try to upload there anymore. I don't mind slaving over my recolours for hours, but I hate to have them reject my uploads with messages telling me I should put in a little more effort and not do simple slider jobs, I should put in shading, and what not all.
WTF???
I did put in shading where appropriate and certainly didn't do simple slider jobs either. I spent hours creating my own textures. Idiots!
I think I'll stick with uploading my stuff to InSim and trying to become a little more popular over there.
What? Oh, you'd like to see some of my hard work?
Here you go:
A nice black Hello Kitty outfit for your Teen Sim girl:

And a beautiful leather jacket for your sim girl:

Created to look just like the new clothes I bought my 9-year-old daughter the other day.
Hello Kitty for Teens and the Black Leather Jacket for girls are available for download from Insimenator.net.
For more of my CC, please check my profile page at Insimenator.net, or my Downloads Blog.

My name is Leah.

My dear friend I'm sorry to hear that! :( They look wonderful! What is a 'slider' job, and what is 'shading'?
It's not such a big deal, Zayury.
InSim is very accomodating. :D
A "slider" job is when you just adjust the colours; I understand that's done with sliders in Photoshop.
And "shading" means putting in shadows where approriate. To prevent your finished product from looking flat in game. :)
Why did they get rejected? They look fine! The hello kitty one's design *is* a little hard to see, maybe it's just my monitor, but other than that I've seen much worse on MTS2 :S weirdos.
Thanks, Silver. :)
Yes, I think they look fine too, but those nutjobs at MTS2 seem to think differently.
They got rejected because of
#1 - The "overall look"
they wanted me to put in just a little more effort
#2 - simple slider jobs
which tells me they're blind - I didn't do simple slider jobs
#3 - shading
Now, I don't know where they got that from, cause I did put in shading in the appropriate places. Again, I'd say they are blind.
Either that or they decided to hate me already...
Or maybe the moderator was just suffering from PMS. =P
Oh, and for the leather jacket they had a really good one:
Neon colours!
For creeps' sake, that scarf is just a very bright pink - exactly the colour of my daughter's scarf. It's not neon - that would have looked quite differently.
And I agree, I've seen much worse on MTS2. It baffles me.
Anyway, I'm not going to change my stuff because they are being so nitpicky.
WE've got a great word for that kidn of people in Dutch:
Mierenneukers.
The literal translation for that would be Ant Fuckers. Hehehe!
LOL
Yeah I agree MTS2 isn't the friendliest place to upload. I remember they moaned at me once because apparently my sims weren't 'facing the camera', and told me to retake the shot, which I found incredibly strange considering that in my punky t-shirt shot, one sim was almost sideways hehe and yet that literally got approved within 5 minutes of uploading. But the one they moaned about, the sims WERE facing the cam, straight on, how much friggin more do you want them to face?!?! Sometimes I think they just like to have a laugh at our expense, you know, making us reshoot cause they think we want our stuff up there so badly, we'll reshoot an infinite number of times to please them. I did it once but I won't do it again. Okay, so I don't get so many downloads at insim or my own site, I don't care, frankly pleasing MTS2 staff is not worth the hassle.
And I do think there is some kind of elitism going on there. I bet if Nouk, for example, deliberately submitted something really substandard it would still get approved because it carries her name. I have more bugbears about that site, but I'll save them for my own blog :D
Wow, Leah! I'm really sorry to hear that! I'm surprised to hear that they're that way. But then, I haven't been checking them out like I used to. Their site takes too long to browse through, and then some of the (supposedly)good quality creations I tried to get from them turned out to be corrupted, so I tend to refrain from dealing with them too much.
Neon colors! Is that suddenly a problem? Do you realize how many creators use neon colors at MTS2? I got really sick of seeing all the punk hairdos with the bright pink, purple, and blue! And most of them were so ugly! :P
This is so hilarious! I can't believe it! You're much better off without them then! LOL!
Thanks, girls.
That cheers me up. :D
If I weren't that pressed for time, I might even want to consider creating a Anti MTS2 Blog, ROFL!
(No, not seriously, but the thought amuses me nonetheless...)
I also had items rejected for stupid reasons, so I understand exactly how you feel.
InSim is a much friendlier forum, and lets creators learn together while making mistakes. That's what simming is all about in my opinion. Not trying to submit to some house style at MTS2, so everything looks the same there now..
